In August, TTM Finishes completed the newest DeSerres Art Supply Store in Toronto on Dufferin Street across the street from Yorkdale Shopping Center. Designers wanted an epoxy floor but were starting with a very bad concrete floor after the initial demolition. The floor required extensive grinding and patching, TTM Finishes had to lay entirely new concrete floors in a couple of areas including the washrooms.
Before proceeding with any epoxy work we conducted moisture tests on the floor and high moisture transmission levels were found.
TTM Finishes solved the problem for their client by applying a Moisture Vapour Barrier Epoxy by Ardex and then topped it with a custom colour grey epoxy from Zeraus as requested by the client.
The final red strip flowing the length of the floor starting at the entrance was painstakingly made to match the custom colour plexiglass ceiling panels in order to appear as if it were a reflection to shoppers.
The finished floor is beautiful and the client was very happy with the work.
